Job summary

Orlando Regional Medical Center, part of Orlando Health, is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to join the Cardiac ICU team. The role focuses on complex cardiac conditions and life-support management in a high-acuity setting.

The APP will work with a multidisciplinary team delivering pre/post-operative care for cardiac surgery patients and will perform advanced procedures as needed.

Qualifications

• ACCC/Critical Care experience preferred.
• Eligible for Florida APRN or PA licensure with BLS.
• Experience with consults in cardiac surgery and advanced therapies is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct clinical care for critically ill cardiac patients per protocols.
• Assess and manage cardiogenic shock, MCS devices, LVAD, ECMO.
• Provide pre/post-operative cardiac surgery care and rounds.
• Interpret diagnostics: echocardiograms, labs, hemodynamics.
• Prescribe meds and manage vasopressors/inotropes as needed.
• Collaborate with heart failure, cardiology, and surgery teams.
• Perform central lines, arterial lines, chest tubes, and other procedures.
• Contribute to care planning and discharge planning.
• Maintain life support until physician arrival if needed.
• Communicate with patients/families and team; pursue ongoing education.
