Job description

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree OR; from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology with Radiologic Technologist (RT) Certification OR; Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) Certification.

Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certification required. Obtain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification within six (6) months of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiologist (RCES) Certification.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The duties listed below describe the general nature of work and are not all-inclusive. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Prepares the EP Lab for procedures, including setting up the sterile procedure table and ensuring all supplies are available.
  • Assists in cleaning up and turnover of the room post-procedure.
  • Prepares patients for electrophysiology procedures, including prepping access sites and maintaining sterility.
  • Sets up, operates, troubleshoots, and maintains Electrophysiology equipment.
  • Performs skills such as hemodynamic monitoring, mapping system setup, intracardiac measurements, pacing, assessing pulmonary vein isolation, and more as detailed.
  • Accurately documents procedure charges, fluoroscopy time, radiation dose, and contrast dosage.
  • Collaborates with the healthcare team to maintain a sterile environment and follow radiation safety protocols.
  • Assists in managing supplies and equipment, and participates in training new staff.
  • Prepares to respond to emergencies, including CPR, defibrillation, and artificial respiration.
Physical Requirements:

Ability to work in semi-restricted environments, stand for prolonged periods, lift patients and equipment, and wear protective gear. Exposure to hazards such as chemicals, blood, noise, radiation, and extreme temperatures. Frequent contact with patients and staff.

Skills & Abilities:

Willingness to participate in shift rotations, perform effectively under pressure, attention to detail, knowledge of EP procedures, and excellent communication skills.
