Job summary

Intermountain Health seeks a skilled EKG Technician to perform non-invasive cardiac EKG tests across inpatient and outpatient settings. You will support physicians, ensure accurate testing, and maintain equipment and patient records per Joint Commission standards.

The role requires BLS certification, completion of the Intermountain EKG course within four months, and the ability to manage multiple tests with attention to detail and patient comfort.

Qualifications

• Must have and maintain current BLS certification for healthcare providers.
• Must take and pass the Intermountain Healthcare EKG course and pass off associated skills within four months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform non-invasive cardiac EKG diagnostic tests in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Assist physicians in accurate testing and interpretation.
• Complete studies within accepted time limits without compromising patient care or exam quality.
• Maintain equipment and perform routine maintenance and cleaning as needed.
• Notify physician of critical values identified during tests per policy.
• Ensure proper patient identification and order verification prior to testing.
• Provide patient education and comfort as needed.
• Administer tests within the EKG Lab including Holter, ambulatory telemetry, blood pressure monitoring, stress testing, and EKGs.
