Job summary

SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University in Brooklyn seeks an hourly/per diem EKG Associate to support the Department of Ambulatory Care Services. Under a registered nurse, you will assist in patient care, monitor cardiac activity, and help maintain a safe, efficient clinical environment.

Qualifications

• You hold a high school diploma or equivalent.
• You have certificate(s) in electrocardiography (EKG/ECG) and phlebotomy.
• You possess Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Conduct cardiac Monitoring on the adult population.
• Performs phlebotomy.
• Maintains infection control measures.
• Performs direct nursing care activity as delegated.
• Performs indirect nursing care activities as required.
• Demonstrates knowledge of growth and development in patient care.
