Job summary

Saratoga Hospital in Saratoga Springs, NY is seeking an EKG Technician to join our fast-paced clinical team. The role involves preparing patients, performing electrocardiograms and Holter monitor hookups, and processing reports for physician interpretation using the MUSE system.

You will respond to Code Blue emergencies, ensure patient safety, and support quality improvement activities while collaborating with nurses and physicians to deliver high-quality care.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Performs electrocardiograms (EKGs) as directed by physician and in accordance with procedures.
• Processes all EKGs, including those performed by Pre-Procedure Testing and night shift nursing personnel.
• Performs Holter monitor hook-ups and discontinuances per procedure; uses the MUSE automated EKG system.
• Responds to Code Blue emergencies and supports patient care."
• Observes and communicates pertinent information about patient condition to the RN and reports abnormal results.
• Prepares and cleans equipment; restocks cardiographs and completes QA documentation.
• Enters patient charges in Meditech and assists with billing issues.
• Uses safety devices and maintains infection control and patient safety measures.
• Delivers compassionate, patient-centered care and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams.
