Job summary

The National CARDIO-VET Network is seeking a fee-basis Cardiac Echocardiography Technician to join our team, expanding access to cardiovascular care for Veterans in rural areas. Compensation will be based on services provided on a fee-for-service basis.

The incumbent will perform echocardiograms and travel to VA clinics within the catchment area, with mileage reimbursement offered. This role emphasizes high-quality imaging and coordination with clinical staff.

Qualifications

• No specific educational requirements for this occupation.
• Licensure or certification not required, but desirable at higher levels.
• Basic and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certifications are desirable.
• Registration by CCI or ARDMS (RCS/RDCS) may be pursued.
• Review grandfathering provisions and VA qualification standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform transthoracic echocardiograms with 2D/3D, Doppler and M-mode imaging.
• Operate and maintain diagnostic equipment; ensure timely image transfer to servers.
• Travel to VA clinics within the catchment area; mileage reimbursement offered.
• Coordinate inventory and supplies for echocardiography procedures.
• Utilize VistA and related systems to access patient records and document results.
