Job summary

Augusta Health is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer to perform echocardiography procedures, obtain quality diagnostic recordings, and communicate findings per physicians’ orders. You will work in a collaborative vascular/echo lab supporting patient care, safety, and quality outcomes.

The role requires RDCS/RCS/ACS or eligibility within 12 months, BLS, and eligibility to work in the U.S. and Virginia. Join us in a mission-driven health system in the Shenandoah Valley.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Allied Health of Applied Science or an accredited cardiac sonographer program.
• RDCS, RCS, or ACS certification (or eligibility within 12 months) and BLS.
• Eligibility to work in the United States and Virginia state employment requirements.

Responsibilities

• Performs echocardiogram testing per physician order, adhering to department policy.
• Maintains and operates Echo lab equipment to ensure test quality and patient safety.
• Complies with Augusta Health policies including safety, infection control, and quality initiatives.
• Annually reviews fire/safety procedures and participates in staff meetings.
• Maintains accurate patient records and timely reporting of test results.
• Prepares patients for testing according to guidelines and ensures proper documentation.
