Job summary

Brown University Health seeks a Cardiac Ultrasound Technologist to perform and interpret ultrasonic evaluations of the heart under the Cardiac Testing Manager. The role emphasizes patient safety, education, and adherence to department protocols while supporting research data collection and continuing education.

The position requires completion of a CAAEP-accredited ultrasound program with ARDMS eligibility and at least two years of cardiac ultrasound experience.

Qualifications

• Completion of a CAAEP accredited ultrasound program.
• Eligible to sit for ARDMS certification examination.

Responsibilities

• Performs M-mode and two-dimensional echocardiography, Doppler echocardiography (pulsed, cw, color flow, exercise and contrast).
• Explains echocardiographic procedures to patients and answers questions.
• Provides safety and comfort to all patients in accordance with standards.
• Assists in teaching cardiology fellows in the above techniques.
• Maintains quality assurance, safety and infection control per department policies.
• Fosters patient and family-centered care per Brown University Health and Miriam Hospital values.
