Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina MUSC Health Lancaster Medical Center is seeking an Echo Tech/Cardiac Sonographer to join the Cardiopulmonary Services team. You will perform echocardiographic studies to support physicians in diagnosing cardiac conditions using M-Mode, 2-D, Doppler and Color Flow imaging.

RDCS or RCS certification is required, + BLS, with a minimum of 1 year of 2D and Doppler experience.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Cardiovascular or Ultrasound program or possess equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in performing 2D and Doppler echocardiograms preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and hemodynamics is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Perform echocardiograms using M-Mode, 2-D, Doppler, and Color Flow Doppler imaging techniques.
  • Assess cardiac structure and function, identifying abnormalities related to anatomy and hemodynamics.
  • Collaborate with physicians and cardiologists to interpret findings and support diagnosis and care planning.
  • Maintain and operate ultrasound equipment, ensuring optimal image quality and equipment functionality.
  • Recognize cardiac disease states and obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Accurately document findings and ensure all studies meet diagnostic criteria and department standards.
  • May be cross-trained to perform duties in EEG, EKG, Stress Testing, and Sleep Studies, as needed.
