Job summary

Intermountain Health in Colorado is seeking an Echo Tech to perform diagnostic cardiac exams under physician direction, with a 40-hour workweek on four 10-hour shifts (6:30 AM–5:00 PM), Monday–Friday, including on-call responsibilities.

Primarily based at St. Mary's Regional Hospital with rotations at the Cardiology Clinic in Grand Junction; ARDMS/CCI and BLS required; Bachelor's preferred.

Qualifications

• ARDMS or CCI certification in cardiac or vascular sonography.
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate technical competence for department protocols.
• Prioritize and schedule exams.
• Coordinate exams with medical staff, physician offices, other caregivers and patients.
• Prepare for exams by identifying patients, educating on procedures, and transporting patients.
• Perform ultrasound exams consistently with protocols and in a timely manner.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort and achieve quality outcomes.
• Communicate patient needs to physicians and caregivers during exams.
• Return patient to room and ensure stability after exams.
• Mentor caregivers and students on equipment use and technique.
• Document exam results and other required information.
• Apply appropriate charge codes for exams and supplies.
• Maintain equipment, work area, and stock supplies.
• Coordinate repairs or supply needs through proper channels.
• Support team and quality improvement initiatives.
• Pursue educational opportunities to develop skills and knowledge.
• Provide education for other caregivers, fellows, and students as appropriate.
