Job summary

Akumin is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer to perform specialized ultrasound exams, utilizing high frequency sound waves to aid physicians in diagnosing cardiac conditions. You will verify orders, operate a PACS/DICOM workflow, and document results with attention to accuracy and HIPAA compliance for every patient.

The role requires RDCS/RSCS registration (or ARDMS/CCI equivalent), BLS certification, and 2–3 years of cardiovascular imaging in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Verify orders and documentation for each examination.
• Perform cardiovascular ultrasound exams using high-frequency probes.
• Operate PACS/DICOM workflow and ensure image quality and proper labeling.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant work environment.
• Participate in staff meetings, continuing education, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance in all patient interactions.
