Job summary

Olathe Health is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer to provide high-quality ultrasound imaging and patient care. The role involves performing echocardiograms, stress studies, and assist with transesophageal echo (TEE) when required.

The candidate should demonstrate professional skills in imaging, patient communication, and be ready for on-call echocardiographic services under a cardiologist's direction. Education and credentials align with cardiac ultrasound programs and certifications.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate as a must.
• Graduate of an accredited cardiac ultrasound/echocardiography program preferred.
• Graduate of health science program (cardiovascular technology, ultrasound, radiologic technology, nursing) preferred.
• Training or certification in IV and UEA contrast administration preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtains patient history and performs pre-ultrasound assessment, ensuring exam alignment with history and indication.
• Ensures patient safety and comfort; communicates the procedure and reassures patients as needed.
• Performs routine and complex cardiac ultrasound procedures including echocardiograms and stress echocardiograms.
• Assists with TEE imaging and post-procedure cleaning/disinfection.
• Maintains equipment logs, participates in on-call echocardiographic services as assigned.
