Job summary

Wilson Health in Sidney, Ohio, is seeking a Cardiopulmonary Diagnostics Registered Nurse (RN) for our Cardiopulmonary Services Department. The role combines direct patient care with advanced diagnostic testing, patient education, and collaboration with physicians and care teams to ensure safe, effective, and compassionate care.

The RN will perform a variety of cardiac and pulmonary diagnostic procedures, assist with echocardiography, review clinical data, and participate in quality improvement

Qualifications

• ADN or BSN from an accredited nursing program.
• Current RN license in Ohio.
• BLS certification.
• ACLS certification.
• 6 months to 1 year nursing experience preferred.
• Experience in cardiology, critical care, telemetry, or related areas preferred.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and diagnostic procedures.
• Proficiency with EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform and analyze a variety of cardiopulmonary diagnostic tests.
• Administer medications as ordered for testing and treatment.
• Assist with echocardiography studies and other cardiovascular procedures.
• Review and evaluate clinical data to support accurate results.
• Educate patients about testing procedures, results, and follow-up care.
• Respond to emergencies and acute patient care needs per policies.
• Assist in training new staff and students.

The Cardiopulmonary Services Department provides advanced diagnostic testing and specialized cardiovascular and pulmonary care to support patients across a variety of care settings. Our team works closely with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare professionals to deliver accurate diagnostic information, exceptional patient experiences, and high-quality clinical outcomes.

Job Summary:

The Cardiopulmonary Diagnostics Registered Nurse is responsible for performing and assisting with a variety of cardiac and pulmonary diagnostic procedures used in the evaluation and treatment of cardiopulmonary conditions. This role combines direct patient care, advanced diagnostic testing, patient education, and collaboration with physicians and care teams to ensure safe, effective, and compassionate care. The Cardiopulmonary Diagnostics RN serves as a clinical resource within the department while supporting Wilson Health's mission of improving the health and wellness of the community through quality care and service excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform, monitor, document, score, and analyze a variety of cardiopulmonary diagnostic tests, including:
  • Cardiac stress testing
  • Nuclear stress testing
  • Holter monitor placement and monitoring
  • Pulmonary function testing
  • Electrocardiograms (EKGs)
  • Tilt table testing
• Administer medications as ordered for diagnostic testing and treatment purposes.
• Assist with echocardiography studies and other cardiovascular diagnostic procedures.
• Review, collect, and evaluate relevant clinical data to support accurate diagnostic results.
• Assess patient needs and provide education regarding testing procedures, results, and follow-up care.
• Respond appropriately to emergency situations and acute patient care needs in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
• Assist in the orientation and education of new employees and students.
• Participate in quality improvement, performance improvement, and patient safety initiatives.
• Perform routine quality control checks, troubleshooting, and equipment maintenance activities to ensure accurate testing and reliable operation.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, clinical staff, patients, and families to provide exceptional care and service.
• Support department operations by assisting with clerical and administrative functions as needed.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
• Perform additional duties as assigned within the scope of practice and responsibility.

Qualifications:

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Ohio.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Minimum of six months to one year of nursing experience preferred.
• Previous experience in cardiology, critical care, emergency services, telemetry, cardiovascular services, or a related specialty preferred.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and cardiopulmonary diagnostic procedures.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient education skills.
• Ability to interpret clinical data and respond effectively in emergent situations.
• Ability to learn and cross-train in additional areas of Cardiopulmonary Services, including cardiopulmonary rehabilitation and diagnostic testing services.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and healthcare technology systems.
