Job description

Overview

We are seeking a Cardiac Device Technician to provide clinical expertise to ensure all patients receive high quality, efficient care. This is a full-time role (Monday - Friday, day shift) with no nights, no on-call, no weekends, and no holidays. You will join a collaborative team dedicated to patient care and professional growth.

What you will do in this role
  • Provide thorough, proficient pacemaker and AICD interrogation and re-programming for cardiac device patients in person, remotely, and/or via phone transmission.
  • Perform initial device analysis, generate preliminary reports, and alert physicians or practitioners to urgent issues needing attention.
  • Interrogate, interpret, and re-program cardiac devices with minimal physician supervision.
  • Troubleshoot critical device issues and take immediate steps toward resolution.
  • Collaborate with physicians regarding device status and accurately document device analysis in EMR for review.
  • Educate patients on all aspects of their device, including remote monitoring and follow-up protocol.
  • Ensure charges are accurately captured for device interrogation.
  • Schedule device follow-ups in EMR and remote websites; contact no-show patients to re-schedule.
  • Assist EP nurses and non-physician practitioners in patient teaching; travel to regional offices for device clinics as needed.
  • Promote proactive communication within and across departments to support a healthy clinical environment.
  • Serve as a resource to physicians and other staff regarding device patients and services.
  • Maintain equipment in good working condition and notify appropriate personnel of issues or safety concerns.
  • Ensure programming rooms are stocked with necessary supplies.
  • Participate in professional development and maintain professional affiliations.
Qualifications you will need

Education

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of five years’ experience analyzing and reprogramming cardiac pacemakers and AICDs (Biotronik, Boston Scientific, Medtronic, St. Jude) or cardiac device technology certification from a recognized device training school.
  • Experience reviewing and managing remote device transmissions (Carelink, Latitude, Merlin).

Certification/Licensing

  • Current BLS certification preferred.
  • 1 year Cardiac Device experience preferred.
