Job summary

SGMC Health is seeking a Cardiac Device Clinic Coordinator to perform interrogations and reprogramming of implanted cardiac devices, including pacemakers, ICDs, and ILRs. The role involves in-office and remote checks, report generation, and EMR documentation.

Qualifications include active GA LPN/RN licensure and current BLS, with RCIS preferred. This position is based in the Cardiac Electrophysiology department at the Professional Building, full-time, 8-hour day shifts.

DEPARTMENT: SGMC CARDIAC ELECTROPHYSIOLOGY

SCHEDULE: Full Time, 8 HR Day Shift, 8-5 Monday- Thursday 8-1 Friday

POSITION SUMMARY

The Cardiac Device Clinic Coordinator will provide thorough, competent interrogations and reprogramming of cardiac devices implanted in patients, including, but not limited to Pacemakers, Implantable Loop Recorders, and Implantable Cardiac Defibrillators. This will include checks done in the office as well as remotely monitored patients. The coordinator will be responsible for initial interrogations, report generation, and documentation in the EMR, as well as relaying acute/urgent issues to the attention of the physicians or APP’s. The Cardiac Device Clinic Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining all policies and procedures for the device clinic.

EDUCATION

• Actively licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse able to work in the State of Georgia.
• Current BLS required.
• Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) preferred.

EXPERIENCE

• Minimum 2 years’ experience with checking devices in the industry, such as Biotronics, St. Jude Medical, Boston Scientific, Medtronics, Sorin, etc
• One year experience with managing remote device transmissions and remote monitoring downloading of data and transferring to the EMR from Biotronik, CareLink, Latitude, and Merlin systems.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Moderate to strong computer skills including EMR, remote transmission software, and Microsoft products like; Outlook, Word, and Excel. · Additional specialty certification/training as required by the work area.
• Ability to work independently as well as with physicians.

WORKING CONDITIONS - ADA INFORMATION

Works primarily in hospital or clinic setting. Requires considerable standing, mental effort, stooping, bending, lifting (in excess of fifty (50) lbs.), pushing objects (carts, beds, and wheelchairs). Likely to be exposed to blood and body fluids, including infectious diseases. May rarely require accompanying and assisting with patient transport to another facility. Uses medical equipment, telecommunications devices, and patient information systems on a regular basis. Physical functional capacity for healthcare workers as defined by the Saunders Method (very heavy).
