Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health in Seattle is seeking a Cardiac Nurse to care for patients with life-threatening cardiac events and guide families through daily care and long-term healing plans outside the hospital.

You will monitor vitals, report early warning signs to a multidisciplinary team of cardiologists, EKG techs, and cardiovascular professionals, and continue education to advance your nursing skills.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program and WA RN license.
• Two years of related nursing experience.
• Current BLS, ACLS and CPR certifications.

Responsibilities

• Administers cardiovascular and pharmacological stress tests with imaging modalities and IV therapy as appropriate; interprets EKG findings per protocols.
• Completes cardiac risk assessment forms for cardiac clearance requests and forwards assessments to Cardiologist for final determination.
• Reviews protocols for each procedure/study and provides patient education tailored to medical history and physician protocols.
• As initial point of contact, performs nursing triage within licensure; triages cardiac patients per standing orders and escalates complex cases.
• Documents studies, procedures, and interactions in the electronic medical record; enters, pends and signs orders as appropriate.
