Job Summary

The Cardiac Catheterization Technologist provides technical support and scrub assistance to cardiologists during diagnostic and therapeutic cardiac and peripheral vascular procedures. Responsibilities include preparing and performing cardiac and vascular imaging, troubleshooting equipment, maintaining accurate records, and managing supplies.

Essential Duties
  • Organize and coordinate patient procedures as assigned.
  • Assist as scrub or circulating technologist during cardiac procedures, including structural heart repair, transcatheter valve replacement, and implant procedures.
  • Operate electrophysiology equipment for ablation and mapping, assist with hemodynamic monitoring, and recognize cardiac arrhythmias.
  • Manage post-procedure patient care, including vascular access sites and support device operation.
  • Maintain sterile technique, ensure safety standards, and document all procedures accurately.
  • Participate in training, department maintenance, and after-hours on-call duties.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience as a Radiologic Technologist and in electrophysiology.
  • Electrophysiology experience preferred.
Licenses and Certifications
  • Certified Radiologic Technologist (CA DPH)
  • Radiologic Technologist Fluoroscopy Permit (CA DPH)
  • ARRT Radiography Certification
  • American Heart Association BLS certification
