Job summary

Tidelands Health is seeking a Cardiac Catheterization Technologist (RCIS) to join our cath lab team in South Carolina. The technologist will support diagnostic and therapeutic angiographic procedures, monitor patient status, educate patients and families, and ensure equipment and supplies are ready for procedures.

The role requires RCIS/RCES or ARRT credentials eligibility, SC SCRQSA eligibility, and relevant experience with cardiac monitoring and interventional labs.

Qualifications

  • Certificate from a program leading to RCIS/RCES/ARRT credentials and SCRQSA eligibility.
  • Associate degree preferred.
  • Experience with physiological monitoring systems, sterile scrub technique, interventional and diagnostic heart catheterizations, vascular and device implantation preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Test equipment for proper functioning and availability.
  • Assist RN/Physician with proper patient positioning.
  • Ensure supplies are available for the physician.
  • Participate in physician updates.
  • Handle/label specimens appropriately.
  • Actively participate in procedural time-outs and label medications/solutions used.

More than 2,500 team members at more than 70 Tidelands Health locations bring our healing mission to life each day.A Brief OverviewThe Cardiac Catheterization Technologist performs all routine diagnostic and emergent therapeutic angiographic or catheterization procedures. Assures equipment is functioning properly. Produces and evaluates data, information, and images used by the physician in the performance of the procedure. Assists team members in all aspects of patient care, monitoring patients' vital signs, interpreting status information and performing/functioning in one or more of the following: monitor, scrub, or circulating technologist. Educate patients, family members and Cath team. Stock inventory and all other duties as assigned.
