Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a experienced nursing leader for the Cath Lab/IR team to assure patient safety and high-quality care. You will direct patient care assignments, oversee staffing, onboarding and staff development, and collaborate with physicians and leaders to improve outcomes.

Responsibilities include monitoring performance, coaching, participating in budgeting and reporting, and leading quality and safety initiatives hospital-wide.

Qualifications

• ACLS certification within 2 years.

Job description

Major Responsibilities:

• Ensures all policies and practices meet regulatory standards to ensure safety of patient and team.
• Collaborates with leadership to ensure adequate staffing through selection, onboarding and development of team members.
• Identifies performance issues, participates in developmental plans, disciplinary action, as well as counseling and termination.
• Provides coaching and mentoring to team members as a group or on an individual level.
• Collaborates with leadership in budget preparation by reviewing clinical and statistical data; prepares and submits reports which reflect unit operations, utilization of team members and productivity metric.
• Monitors and implements cost effective strategies (e.g., inventory, supplies, staffing to volume, etc.)
• Collaborates with associates and physicians to improve quality outcomes thru site or system implementation strategies; focus on continual improvement and ongoing strategies to improve clinical outcomes.
• Coordinate education programs to enhance associate knowledge and skills; ensures annual clinical competency completion.
• Actively participates in hospital committees and projects; leads departmental shared governance quality and safety improvement strategies.
• Serves as back up invasive team member and ensures charges posted within 24 hours

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities:

Directs all patient care assignments, ensures safety, efficiency and flow thru collaboration with physicians and ancillary units.

Education/Experience Required:

Licensure:

• Nurse, Registered (RN) BSN or
• Cath/IR Rad Technologist, ARRT.

Education/Experience Required:

• ACLS Specialty Certification within 2 years.

For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
