Job Summary and Qualifications

Cardiac Catheterization Technicians are cardiovascular technologists working in our facilities, performing tests on heart health, assisting with catheter insertions, and managing the administration of special fluids.

What you will do in this role:
  • Assist with diagnostic and therapeutic invasive cardiology procedures under supervision, collaborating with physicians and nursing staff.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of radiographic imaging, patient monitoring, and arrhythmia recognition.
  • Follow sterile techniques.
  • Collect data for analysis and performance improvement.
  • Perform additional activities as assigned by supervisors to ensure departmental efficiency.
  • Participate in on-call rotations, responding within 30 minutes when on call.
Qualifications needed:
  • Graduate from an accredited Cardiovascular Technology or Radiologic Technology program, or a health science program (e.g., ultrasound, radiologic tech, respiratory therapy, nursing, paramedic/EMT).
  • RT (R), RCIS, or RCES credential preferred; if not available at hire, must pass RCIS exam within two years.
  • BLS certification required at hire; ACLS within 90 days.
  • 1-2 years of experience in interventional radiology or cardiovascular labs preferred.
  • On-call availability and ability to report within 30 minutes.
