Job summary

MedStar Health is seeking a Cardiac Intervention Technologist II to join our team at Union Memorial and Franklin Square Medical Centers. The role performs angiographic and interventional procedures, manages patients before, during, and after the procedure, and contributes to high-quality diagnostic imaging.

Responsibilities include preparing sterile trays, scrubbing as needed, operating imaging equipment, and ensuring patient safety throughout the intervention.

Qualifications

• AMA-approved radiologic technology program of at least 2 years.
• 2 years' experience in diagnostic radiology.
• Experience in interventional radiology/cardiac catheterization or equivalent.
• ARRT certification or registration.
• Maryland Radiology Technologist license.
• ACLS certification or eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Administers contrast media into coronary arteries during cardiac catheterization as directed by a Cardiologist.
• Assists in scrubbing and aiding in guide wires and catheters placement.
• Maintains imaging equipment and ensures high-quality diagnostic images.
• Monitors patient status and records findings in RIS/ hospital systems.
• Performs pre- and post-procedural duties including patient education and discharge instructions.

Education

AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology (2 years)

ARRT certification or registration

Maryland Radiology Technologist license

ACLS certification or eligibility
