Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Akron General is seeking an RN Specialist to provide and assist with care for patients undergoing cardiac catheter procedures, including pre- and post-procedure care.

The role emphasizes education, patient experience, and safety, with opportunities to precept students and cross-train in related areas. Requires ADN/BSN and active Ohio RN license, with BLS and ACLS certifications.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN).
• Current state RN license in Ohio.
• BLS certification required; ACLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Admit, assess, and provide pre- and post-procedure care to patients.
• Provide patient care during Cardiac Cath Lab procedures.
• Coordinate patient transfers within the facility and to outlying facilities.
• Ensure patient and caregiver safety.
• Record and monitor vital signs during procedures.
• Administer medications as ordered by a physician.
• Prepare rooms and equipment for procedures.
• Complete mandatory education and training to maintain competencies.
• Remain flexible to work in and cross train between other areas.
• Serve as preceptor for university nursing students and health sciences.
