Job summary

St. Mary’s General Hospital in Passaic, NJ is seeking an experienced RN for the Cardiac Catheterization Lab.

The nurse provides specialized care for adults and geriatric patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures, working with cardiologists and the care team to ensure safety and positive outcomes. Responsibilities include assessment, monitoring, procedural support, equipment readiness, and post-procedure care, with emphasis on documentation and quality

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required at hire and maintained.
• Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in Cardiac Cath Lab, CV Lab, or Critical Care setting.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and related cardiovascular procedures.
• Monitor and interpret physiologic and hemodynamic data before, during, and after procedures.
• Assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures.
• Prepare procedure rooms, equipment, and supplies to ensure operational readiness and efficient workflow.
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels and coordinate supplies required for scheduled procedures.
• Provide patient and family education regarding procedures, recovery expectations, and follow-up care.
• Collaborate with cardiologists, nurses, technologists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.
• Participate in quality assurance, performance improvement, and patient safety initiatives.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards.
