Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System St. Francis Campus in Topeka, Kansas is seeking a day shift, full-time Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse.

You will coordinate safe patient care for diverse populations under the Nurse Director/Manager, assess needs, and continually revise plans to meet holistic goals for patients and families. Requirements include an active Kansas RN license and an Associate’s degree in nursing; BLS is required within 14 days, ACLS for Tele/ICU/PCU, and oncology

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in nursing.
• Current Kansas RN Licensure.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• ACLS required for Tele, ICU, and PCU.
• Post-surgery requires oncology certification.
• All required certifications must be completed within the first year of employment.
• At least one year of recent experience in a similar healthcare setting (preferred).
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing (preferred).
• Familiar with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) (preferred).

Responsibilities

• The Registered Nurse coordinates safe patient care delivery for specified and diverse patient populations under the Nurse Director/Manager.
• The RN assesses patient/family needs, develops and prioritizes goals, evaluates care delivery, and revises the plan of care to meet holistic needs.
• The RN delegates care as appropriate to optimize patient outcomes.
• The RN adheres to the Kansas Nurse Practice Act.
