Job summary

Barnes-Jewish Hospital is seeking a Staff Nurse (RN) for the Cardiac Cath Lab within the Cardiovascular Procedure Center. The role emphasizes critical nursing skills, patient advocacy, and delivering high-quality care in a Magnet-certified environment.

Ideal candidates have direct bedside experience, preferred BSN, and are prepared for a call schedule that includes weeknights and every 3rd-4th weekend. ADN/BSN/MSN candidates are welcome.

Qualifications

• Direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Must demonstrate critical thinking, clinical expertise, and critical care skills.

Responsibilities

• Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment.
• Educates patients and families on managing illness or injury post-treatment and medication administration.
• Ensures patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance; participates in professional development.
• Develops and documents plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team and patient/family.
• Assesses patient needs and involves patient values and preferences in care decisions.
• Acknowledges safety-sensitive nature of the role and maintains alertness.
