Job summary

The St. Francis Heart Center at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Nassau County, is seeking a Nurse Practitioner for the Cardiac Cath Lab. The NP will collaborate with Cardiologists, manage assessments, orders, and follow-ups in an inpatient cardiology setting.

Required are NP certification, cardiac cath lab or CCU experience, and BLS/ACLS. The role involves pre/post care, rounds, documentation, and interdepartmental coordination.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Nursing with NP specialization.
• Certification by ANCC or AANP organizations.
• BLS and ACLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist in coordination with physicians in providing assessments, diagnosis, care and treatment of inpatient cardiology patients.
• Review and implement orders, participate in rounds, and liaise between teams.
• Assist cardiologist with invasive/noninvasive procedures and perform selected procedures when skilled.
• Manage implanted devices and order tests/medications as needed.
• Document care plans, discharge planning, and follow-up coordination.
