Required Skills/Experience:- A minimum of 2 years’ experience with coronary, complex PCI, and peripheral procedures is required.
Preferred Skills/Experience:- Structural heart experience is preferred.
Required Credentials:- An AA/AAS degree in Health Sciences (or a related health science field) is required.
Special Requests:- Permanent staff must wait 1 full year to return as a traveler. Holiday coverage may include 1 holiday per assignment. Time-off approval must go through the manager. You can only have 1 active application for the same position (same unit & shift at the same facility). Example: if you apply for day shift, you can also apply for night shift on the same unit and facility, but you cannot apply for another day shift position on the same unit & facility.
Unit Details:- The patient population includes coronary artery disease, STEMI, cardiogenic shock, complex total occlusions, diagnostic Cath procedures, valvular disease, renal disease, carotid stenosis, limb salvage, peripheral stenosis, thrombosis disease, Impella insertions, and LVAD insertions.- Equipment includes IABP, Impella, Rotablator, Penumbra, and a balloon pump.- Epic Cupid is preferred; the unit uses Omnicell and is transitioning to Baxter.
Shift & Scheduling:- Weekend rotation is every third weekend.- Day shift call is M-F, 430-6pm; weekend call is Sat 6am to Sun 6pm.- Variable rotation includes 1 week of nights and 3 weeks of days. Days are (4) 10-hour shifts; nights run 6pm-6am and are (3) 12-hour shifts.- Shifts are grouped where possible to limit frequent switching between days and nights.
Floating Requirements:- The technologist may occasionally need to stay with a patient in PACU after a large-bore sheath; the technologist will not float to IR or EP because they are separate departments.
