About the Opportunity:
A distinguished specialty care practice group in Philadelphia is seeking a fellowship-trained cardiac anesthesiologist to join our exceptional team of anesthesiologists. Be part of a dynamic department making a difference in patient care.
Key Highlights:
• Facility: Urban Level 1 Trauma Center with a robust transplant program.
• Role: Fellowship-trained cardiac anesthesiologist.
• Welcome: New graduates encouraged to apply and supported in their transition.
Position Details:
• Collaborate with 6 cardiac anesthesiologists within an integrated anesthesia department of 29.
• Work alongside 40 skilled CRNAs.
• Provide anesthesia for cardiac, liver transplant (70+ cases), and general cases.
• Partner with 3 cardiac surgeons in delivering top-tier care.
• Engage in teaching opportunities with Jefferson Anesthesiology residents.
• Handle approximately 500 cardiac cases annually, including 400 pump cases.
• Gain experience in procedures such as LVAD, TAVR, Aortic, AVR, MIDCAB, CABG, and minimally invasive mitral clips.
• Operate in 2 dedicated heart rooms in Philadelphia and state-of-the-art OR facilities in Montgomery.
• Call schedule: Cardiac call from home (1:6), no general call, with post-call day off or additional pay.
• Liver cases compensated separately.
Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care.
• Foster effective communication with other specialties and departments on clinical matters.
• Participate in administrative tasks as designated by the department chair.
• Supervise and teach medical students and CRNA trainees.
Qualifications:
• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of an approved anesthesiology residency.
• Fellowship training in cardiac anesthesiology or extensive cardiac anesthesia experience.
• TEE certification.
• Active or eligible for required licensure and certifications.
• Board eligible or certified in anesthesiology.
