Job summary

Nashville VA Medical Center is seeking a skilled Cardiac Anesthesiologist to join our Anesthesia Service in Nashville, Tennessee. This federal position offers stability, benefits, and a balanced lifestyle while caring for Veterans.

Primary duties include preoperative assessment, intraoperative management, and postoperative care within a collaborative, academic environment. Board eligibility or certification in Anesthesiology with cardiac experience is desired, with fellowship training preferred.

Qualifications

• Board-certified or board-eligible in Anesthesiology.
• Fellowship training or substantial experience in cardiac anesthesia strongly preferred.
• Experience with cardiac procedures (CABG, valve surgery, TAVR).
• Experience in academic, team-based environment.

Responsibilities

• Preoperative assessment and optimization.
• Intraoperative management of cardiac anesthesia.
• Postoperative care and critical care as needed.
• Collaborate with surgeons, cardiologists, intensivists, and CRNAs.
