Job summary

Chesapeake Regional Healthcare is seeking a Cardiac Anesthesia Technician to maintain supplies and equipment in the Cardiac Operating Room and related areas. The role supports the anesthesiologist during procedures and ensures aseptic, safe handling of all equipment and drugs.

The position requires five years of prior Cardiac Anesthesia Technician experience or ASATT certification in lieu of experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and strict adherence to infection control standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Five years of experience as Cardiac Anesthesia Technician/Assistant required; ASATT cert may be accepted in lieu of experience.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate competency and aseptic technique with stock, equipment, and supplies.
• Maintain stocked supply levels and reorder as needed.
• Prepare and maintain anesthesia equipment before, during and after cardiac procedures; assist during emergencies.
• Keep ORs and carts labeled and orderly across Surgical Services and related labs.
• Check drug expiration dates and rotate stock to prevent wastage.
• Restock supplies daily and ensure par levels are maintained.
• Adhere to infection control and safety standards; clean equipment between cases.
• Prepare arterial and central lines using aseptic techniques.
• Assist anesthesia personnel by restocking and cleaning rooms between cases.
