Job summary

Piedmont Mountainside Hospital is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join its Cardiac Acute Care Inpatient team in Jasper, Georgia. This full‑time position offers day shifts Monday–Friday and the opportunity to contribute to a leading cardiology program.

You will work with physicians and other APPs to evaluate, diagnose, and manage inpatient cardiology patients, performing procedures, documenting care, and coordinating tests and care plans.

Qualifications

• Cardiology inpatient care experience and ability to work in a hospital setting.
• Team-based care with physicians and other APPs.
• Strong diagnostic and procedural documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in evaluation and treatment of Cardiology patients in an inpatient setting.
• Assess patients and perform diagnostic/therapeutic procedures and prescribe treatments.
• Take patient histories and conduct physical exams; write progress notes and discharge summaries.
• Prepare patient workups and coordinate diagnostic procedures as needed.
• Collaborate with physicians and other APPs in a team.

Overview:

Advanced Practice Provider - Cardiac Acute Care Inpatient - Jasper, Georgia

Piedmont Heart Institute (PHI) is recruiting for a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join the team at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital located in Jasper, Georgia. This is a full-time position working day shift Monday-Friday.

Piedmont Heart Institute provides the full line of cardiovascular services with dedicated electrophysiology, transplant, advanced heart failure, critical care, interventional, surgical and research services.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the evaluation and treatment of Cardiology patients in an inpatient setting.
• Assesses patients and performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, not limited to but including stress testing, to assist physician in diagnosing medical and surgical problems and prescribes necessary treatment and services for quality patient care.
• Take patient histories, conduct physical examinations, and record the data in the patient's record
• Write progress notes, consults, admissions, and discharge summaries
• Prepare patient workups
• Order and schedule diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for patients as direct patient care services are delivered.
• Work alongside Physicians and other Cardiology APPs in a collaborative team.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

PA: Graduate of a Physician Assistants program with current license for the Georgia State Composite Board

or

NP: Graduate from a school of nursing with current Georgia license for Advanced Practice Nursing and a Master's degree in Nursing
