Card Finishing Machine Operator V - 3rd Shift

Job Summary: The Dual-Interface Card Line (DICL) Operator is responsible for set-up, operation, and troubleshooting of a DICL production machine. This role involves monitoring product quality, tracking production quantities, and ensuring safety and efficiency during production. The operator reports issues to the Machine Lead/Lead Hand and Supervisor to meet KPIs.

Job Duties:
  1. Attend daily production staff meetings.
  2. Coordinate with the production schedule, lead/lead hand, and supervisor.
  3. Verify availability of materials, tooling, and documentation before starting.
  4. Obtain production sign-off from lead/lead hand or supervisor.
  5. Perform safety checks on the machine.
  6. Operate machines within safety standards.
  7. Refer to product drawings and tolerances.
  8. Load correct job files and notify if conflicts arise.
  9. Set up machines according to specifications.
  10. Load process parameters and inspection programs.
  11. Manage production materials and tooling.
  12. Monitor and adjust process outputs as needed.
  13. Conduct visual and in-process quality inspections.
  14. Troubleshoot and resolve machine issues, collaborating with the Shift Lead.
  15. Perform rework when necessary.
  16. Account for incoming and outgoing materials.
  17. Maintain cleanliness and organization, including 5S practices.
  18. Ensure availability of consumables.
  19. Maintain activity logs and communicate progress to supervisors.
  20. Perform additional duties as assigned, including operating machines as needed.
Accountabilities:
  • Report to the Team Lead and follow their guidance.
  • Ensure product quality and proper calibration of equipment.
  • Understand production responsibilities and goals.
  • Follow safety and compliance standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area.
  • Manage tooling and equipment inventory.
Physical and Environmental Requirements:
  • Exposure to ambient noise.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Operate machinery manually.
  • Stand, bend, lift for extended periods.
  • Flexible schedule, including overtime and weekends.
  • Focus on high-speed production output.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Technical trade school preferred.
  • 3-5 years of manufacturing experience.
  • Ability to read CAD drawings and understand GD&T preferred.
  • Strong math, communication, and computer skills.
  • Good attendance, attention to detail, and safety awareness.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
