Job description

Job Summary:

The CMFB/FBC operator is a skilled position involving CNC and vision systems. The operator performs setup, minor mechanical adjustments, and operates all equipment in their assigned area. They are responsible for machine upkeep and ensuring processes are followed to produce quality products.

The operator assists the Manager, Supervisor, and Shift Lead in setting up production runs and ensuring daily KPI targets are met throughout the shift.

Job Duties:
  • Verify setup and correct machine parameters at the start of each shift, making adjustments as needed according to job specifications.
  • Open and modify vision files required for processing (ATS & Bump inspection).
  • Open and modify CNC files for product processing.
  • Adjust machine parameters as required during operation.
  • Monitor machine performance to ensure optimal operation.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve process issues, collaborating with Machine Lead when necessary.
  • Perform regular and preventive maintenance procedures.
  • Conduct safety checks on machines.
  • Perform audits and quality checks, managing periodic output checks to ensure product quality.
  • Maintain adequate stocks of consumables.
  • Create and update activity logs.
  • Report progress and issues to supervisors/lead hands.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or as needed.
  • Occasionally operate machines when required.
Accountabilities:
  • Report to the Shift Lead and follow their instructions.
  • Assist in machine setup for quality production.
  • Conduct quality tests and calibrations periodically.
  • Ensure the quality of finished work during the shift.
  • Use correct vision and CNC files during production.
  • Ensure vision systems are active for ATS and Bump during production.
  • Work towards departmental goals.
  • Follow safety and environmental standards.
  • Maintain departmental performance and safety standards.
Job Specifications:
  • Exposure to shop noise.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Operate mechanical machinery.
  • Physically capable of bending, lifting, and standing for long periods.
  • Flexible schedule, including overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Focus on high-speed work environment for extended periods.
  • Adhere to security standards (MasterCard and Visa).
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing roles.
  • CNC experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with department equipment.
  • Good attendance.
  • Ability to understand and execute work instructions.
  • Ability to work independently and multitask under deadlines.
  • Knowledge of quality processes.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Understanding of vision system influences (pixels, lighting, masking, filters).
  • Safety-conscious with safety knowledge.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, changing environment.
