Job Description

We are seeking an exceptional Carbon Scientist to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will:

1. Apply your expertise in environmental science, ecology, forestry, or a related field, with a minimum of an MSc degree.
2. Utilize GIS analysis and develop MRV protocols for farm/forest-based carbon measurement.
3. Implement and analyze remote-sensing systems.
4. Apply IPCC Guidelines for National Greenhouse Gas Inventories to quantify carbon stock changes in AFOLU systems.
5. Develop models to simulate and estimate changes in carbon stocks over time.
6. Work with large, complex datasets to analyze and interpret land-based, forestry, and agricultural carbon data.
7. Apply mathematical equations, such as allometry, to estimate biomass and carbon stock changes.
8. Possess research experience in forestry and soil ecosystems, with familiarity with standards like LSRG, SBTi FLAG, and VERRA.

This role is fully remote but requires international travel and possibly attendance at the annual UN Conference of Parties (COP).
