Job summary

Nike Beaverton is seeking a Composite/Carbon Fiber Technician to fabricate and analyze composite parts. You will apply carbon fiber prepregs, cure processes, and bonding techniques to deliver high-quality components for prototypes and production runs.

The role requires attention to detail, safety discipline, and the ability to read drawings and collaborate with engineers to resolve technical issues in a hybrid onsite work setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years’ experience in aerospace or a similar industry.
• Proficiency with carbon fiber and fiberglass prepreg, layup, and assembly.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specs and work instructions.
• Experience with curing, bonding, finishing, and quality inspections.

Responsibilities

• Perform composite prototyping, molding, and bonding operations per procedures.
• Prepare materials, tooling, jigs, and equipment for manufacturing.
• Cut, trim, and shape composite materials with hand and power tools.
• Apply resins, adhesives, and prepregs to create composite structures.
• Conduct quality inspections and address defects or non-conformities.
• Operate vacuum pumps, ovens, and curing processes.
• Develop manufacturing processes and jigs, fixtures, and molds.
• Collaborate with engineers to troubleshoot technical issues.
• Maintain accurate production and material documentation.
• Adhere to safety protocols and keep workspace clean and organized.
• Analyze parts and materials from fabricated components.
