Description

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

This position represents Granite State Scenic Railroad as a tour guide, ensuring passengers have a safe and enjoyable journey by engaging with them in a friendly and informed manner. It is a part-time/seasonal role with a flexible schedule. The position is employed by an affiliated company of Patriot Rail.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Attend safety briefings (pre-trip).
• Verify that the assigned car is prepared and ready.
• Assist in loading and unloading passengers.
• Enforce safety rules.
• Be knowledgeable about the train, cars, and scenic highlights.
• Respond accurately to customer inquiries.
• Stay informed about events, services, and procedures.
• Provide First Aid/CPR/AED in emergencies.
• Deliver excellent customer service and resolve conflicts when needed.
• Communicate effectively with co-workers and the public.
• Maintain professionalism, courtesy, and tactfulness.
• Work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, especially during the Fall peak season.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Efficient multi-tasking skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Problem-solving skills and critical thinking.
• Self-motivation with minimal supervision.
• Pass all required assessments and background checks.
• Post-offer medical, drug, and physical capability tests may be required.
• Adherence to punctuality and availability policies.
• Willingness to obtain First Aid/CPR/AED certification if not already certified.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Regularly sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, handle objects, reach, write, talk, type, and hear. Occasionally sit, stoop, bend, kneel, and lift/move up to 35 lbs.
