Job summary

Glacier Fish Company in Washington is seeking an experienced Captain or Mate to lead on our groundfish vessel fleet. You will navigate, supervise fishing operations, ensure safety, and maintain regulatory compliance.

This role requires a Coast Guard license, 3+ years of Alaskan waters experience, strong leadership and English communication, and the ability to work long shifts at sea. Crew-share pay, free room and board, and benefits are part of the package as you help drive production while

Qualifications

• Coast Guard or equivalent license required.
• Minimum 3 years as Captain/Mate on H&G vessels in Alaskan waters.
• Knowledge of COLREGS and USCG vessel requirements.
• Strong leadership and English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Navigate and maneuver vessel using charts and electronic gear.
• Ensure compliance with COLREGS and USCG requirements.
• Direct fishing operations and manage quotas.
• Record daily ship logs and coordinate with department heads.
• Prepare vessel for USCG/DNV inspections.
• Work 12 hours per day, 7 days a week; trips 13–20 days.
• Maintain safety and environmental procedures.
• Supervise medical and safety activities on board.
• Climb ladders and work in confined spaces.
