Do you hold a Master of 100 tons, Near Coastal with Sail endorsement?

If you answered YES, then LAMI and our year-round operations in the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach may be just right for you. We are seeking full-time liveaboard captains in San Pedro.

LAMI currently operates three tall ships: the twin brigantines Irving Johnson and Exy Johnson, each 110’ with 13 sails, and our 130’ three-masted schooner American Pride. Our areas of operation include the Los Angeles and Long Beach Port Complex, from San Diego to Santa Barbara, the Northern Channel Islands, and Catalina Island.

As captain, you will be responsible for all elements of your vessel, including safety, crew management, training, executing educational programs, and maintenance. Enthusiasm for sailing and engaging with school-age youth and the general public is essential.
