An established industry player is seeking a Correctional Security Captain to oversee security operations within a medium to maximum-security facility. Positions in this job family are responsible for coordinating, supervising, and directing correctional security programs in a state adult correctional facility.
This level involves serving as a correctional security captain with overall responsibility for a shift within a medium or maximum-security facility, supervising staff, and ensuring the proper functioning of security systems and operational protocols. Responsibilities include directing emergency response teams and managing the facility after hours or in the absence of the warden.
Requires four years of correctional or security work experience, and compliance with statutory requirements of Title 57, O.S. Section 510, including age, education, and training requirements.
Requires knowledge of supervisory methods, staffing, inmate behavior, use of firearms, restraint techniques, report writing, and prison management. Skills include establishing effective relationships, following instructions, quick evaluation, emergency response, and supervision.
Applicants must be of good moral character, complete approved training, pass physical and drug tests, and be willing to work any shift. Additional requirements include valid driver’s license and compliance with background checks and certifications. Certain positions may be designated as peace officers, with specific legal and training requirements.
