Job summary

Carnell University Health CAPS is seeking an Assistant Director Psych Services to lead and expand clinical psychology services for Cornell students. The role emphasizes collaborative leadership, program development, and ensuring high-quality mental health care across campus health initiatives.

The position requires a strong background in clinical supervision, partnership building, and a commitment to access, belonging, and student wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Masters degree in social work with “C” or “R” designation (LCSW or LCSW-R) or Doctorate in clinical or counseling psychology (PhD or PsyD) and a minimum of 5 years of work-related experience.
• Licensed in New York State.
• Demonstrated ability to establish new clinical systems and partnerships.
• Experience supervising managing and leading a diverse clinical team as well as supervising the clinical work of others.
• 3 years of clinical supervision experience.
• Exceptional experience in and/demonstrated commitment to supporting access, belonging, and wellbeing.

• Lead, define, and assess the scope of clinical services that support the mission and vision of CAPS, Cornell Health, Student and Campus life, and Cornell University.
• Foster a culture of belonging and a psychologically healthy work environment by being trustworthy; respecting all individuals; providing flexibility; supporting work/life integration; inviting new ideas and perspectives; speaking up and taking action against exclusion.
• Supervise and mentor diverse clinical staff and coordinated teams to deliver integrated health services.
