Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. is seeking an Associate in Capital Risk Management to provide independent oversight of capital risk, define and monitor risk metrics, and develop processes to classify and report capital limit breaches.

This role supports regulatory compliance and board-level analyses within Risk Management and Compliance. The position involves analyzing capital metrics, producing senior management presentations, and coordinating with capital management, P&A, and line of business teams to

Qualifications

• 2+ years in capital, liquidity, market risk and/or other risk areas; Treasury/Finance background.
• Advanced degree in Finance, Mathematics, Financial Engineering, or other quantitative discipline; CFA certification.
• Proficiency in LLM, Python, Tableau, Snowflake, Databricks, SQL, dashboard building.
• Ability to quickly grasp new concepts and assess risks to the firm’s capital position.
• Strong knowledge of financial markets and asset classes (retail and wholesale loans, repos, OTC derivatives, trading securities).
• Understanding of balance sheet and income statement fundamentals.
• Fluent storytelling via PowerPoint and adept at using Excel.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills with high attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Monitor regulatory capital metrics against risk limits; ensure accuracy and elevate breaches as needed.
• Guide process improvements and automations, leveraging AI/LLM, etc.
• Analyze variances in capital metrics (RWA, Leverage, CET1, Tier 1, capital).
• Independently assess capital-management activities (forecasts, actions, stress tests).
• Conduct deep dives on changes in regulatory requirements and balance sheet impact; present findings to senior management.
• Prepare board-level analyses and presentations for executive forums.
• Monitor current and emerging risks across asset classes; stay updated on market news and regulations.
• Interact with capital management, line of business controllers and support functions.
