Job summary

Encompass Health Corporation in Birmingham, AL seeks a Capital Projects Planning Manager to lead the strategic planning of capital projects, including scope, schedule, and budget. You will coordinate with civil engineers, architects, and contractors to determine optimal capital deployment for projects ranging from 1M to 80M and manage up to 12 projects concurrently.

• Bachelor's Degree required; Bachelor's degree in a design or construction concentration preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years experience with campus planning, conceptual estimating, or construction project management.
• Experience with Adobe, Microsoft Teams, PowerPoint, and Oracle is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identifies construction project scope to meet operations objectives and initiatives.
• Works with Planning Director and key stakeholders in Real Estate and Development departments to assist in growth efforts.
• Travels (as needed) to evaluate feasibility of sites.
• Oversees site diligence and identifies required regulatory processes to verify viability of future new markets.
• Attends regular meetings with civil engineers to manage the site due diligence and project feasibility. Reviews reports including civil, geotechnical, environmental, and surveys.
• Engages with Preconstruction team on cost estimates to prepare funding approval packages. Prepares presentations outlining the scope, schedule and budget.
• Manages design consultants, vendors, and project schedules. Maintains project file records with project documentation. Reviews consultants fees and invoices to align with project budgets.
• Assists in the required regulatory notifications and impact regarding project costs and schedules.

Position Purpose

The Capital Projects Planning Manager assists with the strategic planning of capital projects comprising both new construction and renovation projects. The Project Planning Manager is responsible for organizing the project goals including scope, schedule, and budget to communicate with key stakeholders. This role will manage the conceptual solution process of expanding, renovating, and contemplating de novo developments. The job function includes working with civil engineers, architects, and contractors to determine the optimal solution for capital deployment. Project sizes range from 1M to 80M with handling up to 12 projects at any given time.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required. Bachelor's degree in a design or construction concentration preferred.
• Experience in Construction Project Planning preferred
• Minimum of 5 years experience with campus planning, conceptual estimating, or construction project management.
• Computer experience preferred, including use of Adobe, Microsoft Teams, PowerPoint, and Oracle.
