Job summary

Welltower, Inc. is seeking a Capital Projects Manager to oversee department initiatives, drive cross-functional projects, and support process improvement across the organization. You will partner with leadership and the Solutions Team to ensure projects move from concept through execution and completion.

The role requires shaping optimized workflows, managing multiple complex projects, and collaborating with senior leaders to align with business objectives. A strong PM background is essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, IT, or related field preferred.
  • Graduate degree is a plus.
  • 5+ years’ experience in Consulting or Project Management related to IT, Operations, Finance, Accounting, or similar roles.

  • Lead and manage department initiatives and strategic projects from planning through implementation.
  • Monitor project progress using dashboards, reports, and tools.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify gaps, streamline workflows, and improve processes.
  • Support the Solutions Team in driving projects to completion and ensuring deliverables stay on track.
  • Coordinate meetings, timelines, action items, and stakeholder communications.
  • Develop project documentation including PowerPoint presentations, one-pagers, swimlane diagrams, and executive summaries.

JOB SUMMARY

The Capital Projects Manager is responsible for overseeing department initiatives, drive cross-functional projects, and support process improvement efforts across the organization. This role will partner closely with leadership and the Solutions Team to ensure projects are effectively managed from concept through execution and completion.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and manage department initiatives and strategic projects from planning through implementation.
  • Monitor project progress and performance using tools such as dashboards, reports, etc.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to identify operational gaps, streamline workflows, and improve business processes
  • Support the Solutions Team in driving projects to completion and ensuring deliverables stay on track
  • Coordinate meetings, project timelines, action items, and stakeholder communications
  • Create and maintain project documentation including:
    • PowerPoint presentations
    • One-pagers
    • Swimlane/process flow diagrams
    • Proposal packages
    • Executive summaries
    • Status reports
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of project management processes and tools
  • Evaluate current project workflows and methodologies to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
  • Develop and implement best practices and strategies to optimize project planning, execution, and delivery.
  • Work closely with project teams, stakeholders, and department heads to ensure alignment and buy-in for optimization initiatives.
  • Partner with internal teams to develop and implement change management strategies that support the transition to new processes.
  • Work closely with department heads and senior leaders to identify operational challenges, streamline processes, and ensure continuous improvement initiatives align with business objectives.
  • Oversee multiple complex projects simultaneously, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope and aligned with business priorities.
  • Identify potential risks associated with new process implementations and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Collaborate with technology vendors to identify and integrate new systems that can improve operational efficiencies.
  • Assist with process mapping, workflow optimization, and operational standardization efforts
  • Drive accountability and follow-up to ensure projects move forward efficiently and deadlines are met

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, IT, or related field preferred. Graduate degree is a plus.
  • 5+ years’ work experience in Consulting or Project Management related to IT, Operations, Finance, Accounting, or similar roles.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, JIRA, Smartsheet).
  • Demonstrated experience in managing large-scale process improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent project management skills, strong analytical skills and the ability to leverage data to make informed decisions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
