Job summary

University of Baltimore (UBALT) seeks a Capital Project Manager to oversee the design and construction of the university's capital projects and to ensure alignment with the campus master plan.

The role manages project budgets, coordinates with senior leadership, and directs contractors and consultants to deliver projects on time and within scope, while prioritizing safety, sustainability, and inclusive design principles.

Responsibilities

• Engage stakeholders across campus on facilities and campus needs and then prioritize projects and develop estimates for evaluation that will be incorporated into a 5-year capital budget.
• Collaborate with leadership within the facilities management office to develop strategies to address deferred maintenance of systems in occupied buildings and incorporate it into a 5-year capital budget.
• Work with Sr Director of FM&CP to get USM approval for capital projects by managing the submission process and working effectively with USM and other State Agencies during the review process.
• Facilitate conflict resolution among diverse stakeholder groups and manage projects in occupied facilities with minimal disruption to academic operations.
• Work closely with Sr Director of FM&CP to represent the University's interests in long-term Capital Investment Planning strategies.
• Ensure all proposed endeavors align with the campus master plan and sustainability goals.
• Create a comprehensive communication plan to ensure stakeholders are fully informed in all aspects of each project as it develops.
• Implement change management processes to support smooth transitions during construction and renovation projects.
