Freeport-McMoRan Inc. is seeking a capable estimator to support development, review, validation, and benchmarking of capital project estimates. You will assist senior estimators, evaluate proposals, and help maintain estimating data across project phases.

Collaborating with Project Controls, Engineering, Procurement, Construction teams, you will ensure estimates align with corporate guidelines and cost baselines, contributing to accurate Owner’s costs and timing across multiple projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Business, Finance, or a related field.
• High School Diploma or GED plus 4 years experience in Construction Projects.

Responsabilités

• Validate and benchmark contractor-prepared estimates using internal/external data sources.
• Assist Senior Estimators on large capital project estimates.
• Review estimate execution plans, basis of estimates, bids and proposals.
• Develop Owner’s costs with Project Controls Manager.
• Ensure adherence to corporate estimating guidelines.
• Perform other duties as requested.

What You Will Do

Under supervision, you will assist with the development, review, validation, and benchmarking of capital project estimates in accordance with corporate estimating procedures; support senior estimators in preparing and evaluating estimates, contractor proposals, Basis of Estimate documents, and Estimate Execution Plans; maintain estimating data; collect project actuals for benchmarking; document estimate assumptions, revisions, and cost impacts; and collaborate with Project Controls, Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and contractor teams to support estimate development across all project phases.

• Validate and benchmark contractor-prepared estimates using internal and external data sources and assist with early-phase factored estimates using internally developed tools collecting project actuals for the estimating benchmarking database
• Assist Senior Level Estimators on larger capital project estimates or work independently on small capital project estimates as skill levels progress
• Assist with yearly estimating corporate initiatives
• Review estimate execution plans, contractor estimates, basis of estimates, bids, and proposals for completeness, competitiveness, and adherence to corporate estimating guidelines
• Work with the Project Controls Manager to develop Owner’s costs
• Ensure corporate estimating standard operating procedures are followed with the Corporate Estimating Manager
• Perform other duties as requested

What You Bring To Freeport

• High School Diploma or GED and four (4) years’ experience in Construction Projects

OR

• Bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Business, Finance, or a related field.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook
• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include, but are not limited to, management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
• Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
• Ability to multi-task in a high-paced, deadline-driven project environment
• Strong analytical skills

What We Offer You

The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $65,000-$90,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
