Job summary

KBR, Inc. in Wilmington, Delaware seeks an Estimating & Benchmarking Lead to oversee the estimating group across capital projects.

You will develop, review, validate, and benchmark capital cost estimates and support early budgets with independent estimate assurance. The role requires deep experience in cost engineering, benchmarking, and project controls, with a track record on large industrial or life sciences projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Finance, Business, or related discipline.
• Minimum 15 years of estimating, cost engineering, or project controls experience on major capital projects.
• Experience developing, reviewing, and validating capital cost estimates across multiple project phases.
• Strong knowledge of estimating methodologies, benchmarking, contingency development and cost analysis.
• Experience supporting large industrial, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, life sciences, energy, or infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, review, validation, reconciliation, and benchmarking of project capital cost estimates.
• Serve as estimating SME, providing independent estimate assurance and benchmarking analyses.
• Support development of project budgets, contingencies, and funding during early phases.
• Monitor estimate performance against budgets and identify trends, risks, variances, and cost growth drivers.
• Coordinate estimating activities with project controls, engineering, procurement, construction, and contractor groups.
• Provide estimating insights to client and leadership to aid decision-making.
