Job summary

Great Lakes Cheese, Inc. is seeking an Engineering Project Manager II to drive capital projects across the enterprise and provide technical leadership for continuous improvement.

You will oversee projects from ideation through startup, coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful installations and ramp-ups. The role requires strong project management, design review, supplier coordination, and regulatory awareness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering required.
• 2+ years of project engineering experience preferred.
• Strong problem solving and hands-on troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and detail orientation.

Responsibilities

• Manage capital projects from concept through install, startup and hand-off to production.
• Coordinate with contractors on assigned projects.
• Develop short- and long-range capital plans for multiple facilities.
• Address issues from suppliers and subcontractors with minimal disruption to objectives.
• Provide technical knowledge for investigations and data analysis.
• Create and modify line layouts and support plant design requests.
• Collaborate with shop floor system team and employees to improve efficiencies.
• Serve as technical resource during regulatory inspections and interactions.
• Support process technology transfer, validation, and documentation preparation.
• Lead cross-functional teams on new product start-ups or process changes.
• Coordinate department activities to modify designs and develop test procedures.
• Resolve problems with new techniques and concepts.
• Analyze technology trends and market demand to plan projects.
• Collaborate to assess engineering feasibility and cost for new/existing products.
