Job summary

University of Colorado Boulder is seeking an internal subject matter expert in construction cost estimating to empower planners, engineers, and project managers with the tools and knowledge needed to develop well-informed project budgets from early development stages.

The Estimator serves as a coach and active contributor on large capital projects, supporting data-backed cost estimates across PD&C and campus capitalization efforts.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and refinement of cost estimation processes and models to empower planners and project managers.
• Build and maintain a project cost database with historical data and current market prices.
• Provide training on estimating fundamentals and model usage for independent budgeting.
• Review contractor pricing submissions across multiple delivery methods for accuracy.
• Prepare conceptual estimates and Life Cycle Cost Analyses as needed.
• Support procurement decisions with clear cost analyses and written justifications.
