Current vacancies exist in the Public Works, Harbor, and Long Beach Utilities Department. The Airport department is also a current user of this classification.
Under direction, plans and coordinates capital improvement projects in various departments; manages project budgets and schedules; monitors project progress and compliance; administers project and contract management systems; represents the City in meetings; facilitates risk assessments; prepares grant and permit applications; ensures projects conform to policies; leads or participates in consultant selection; administers contracts; assists in bidding and construction; makes presentations; and performs other related duties.
Candidates must meet both A and B requirements:
Substitution of experience for education is possible on a year-for-year basis. Proof of education must be uploaded at application submission.
Additional requirements include a valid driver's license, and for some positions, passing TSA background checks, TWIC, or other security clearances. Bilingual skills are desirable.
The process is non-competitive, based on training, experience, education, or certification. Applications received by April 18, 2025, will be placed on Test #01. Veteran’s credits are considered first. The process may be revised based on application volume.
