Job summary

Ashton North LLC in Oskaloosa, Iowa is seeking a Capital Project Engineer to plan, support, and execute capital projects from design through startup. The role focuses on small- to medium-sized projects, overseeing construction management and documentation while applying engineering standards and procedures.

You will lead scope, schedule, and budget development, coordinate staffing for construction and startup plans, and manage equipment specifications and bid packages.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of capital project engineering experience.
• Experience in chemical or food-related industries.
• Experience with commissioning and project start-ups.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of capital project scope, schedule and budget while following project management deliverables and best practices.
• Coordinate staffing and development of construction, commissioning and start-up plans.
• Lead equipment specification and procurement and develop, review and award bid packages for equipment and labor.
• Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
• Other duties as assigned

In this role, you will be primarily focused on small- to medium-sized capital projects from design to startup, while overseeing construction management and documentation. We seek a professional who will actively apply engineering standards and procedures, providing advice on issues within the engineering scope.
